Udayam Project is envisaged by the District administration, Kozhikode to rehabilitate the destitute who have been rescued from the streets in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak in March 2020 and house them across various camps in the district. The Social Justice Department, institutions like the Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (IMHANS), Daya Rehabilitation Trust, and other reputed NGOs have conducted psychosocial assessments and interventions that led to considerable progress in changing their orientation and perspective towards life.. At present, the Udayam project has been successful in ensuring housing facilities offered under Udayam Homes at three grounds of Kozhikode city for more than 400 persons. The project has been undertaken under the direct supervision of District Collector Kozhikode Shri. Seeram Samabashiva Rao. Presently, Udayam is focusing on offering skilled training at the care centers, helping them to secure employment and maintain a self-sustainable livelihood. Any small contribution made towards this project would be able to bring warmth and care into someone's life.
